Metro Detroit: Livonia’s Mr. Miguel’s
In 2015, Steve Savich and his father opened the first Mr. Miguel’s in Warren. The name Mr. Miguel’s pays homage to the first restaurant he opened, with his father in 2008. You may have heard of this restaurant - Mr. Mike’s on Wayne Road in Westland. Today there are 4 locations in including Brownstown which opened in 2021, Livonia which opened in 2022, and Utica which just opened in April of this year.
Of course we go to the Livonia location but they all have the same Happy Hour specials:
Daily happy hour from 2-5PM
Plus ALL DAY happy hour Monday, Wednesday and Sunday where you can get ½ off their Margaritas, Grande Nachos and our Favorite the Mexican Pizza, more on that in a bit.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are Taco Days with $2 tacos (Americano or Street Tacos) half off Coronaritas and draft beers .

Mr. Miguel's is your traditional Mexican restaurant, serving up quintessential dishes like fajitas, enchiladas, chimichangas and tacos made from scratch using the freshest ingredients.
The atmosphere can be lively when it is busy. The décor is vibrant, with lots of colorful mural style paintings throughout. They occasionally have live music, and on Mondays they have Music Bingo from 6-8PM, which we’ve heard can be fun.
We have been here a number of times, usually during happy hour, and have tried a number of items and they have all been delicious! We could go just for a beer and some chips and salsa, their salsa is addictive.
My personal favorite is the Mexican Pizza. It is not your typical Mexican Pizza, this is a large fried flour tortilla topped with your choice of red sauce or refried beans, cheese, lettuce, Pico de Gallo and crema. We also add their seasoned ground beef for an extra $2. It is served on a pizza tray and is definitely enough for 2.
The Grande Nachos are also big enough for 2. A pile of fresh tortilla chips generously topped with cheese, jalapeno, Pico de Gallo and queso. As with the pizza you can add meat or beans for an additional $2 charge but here’s a kicker…you can substitute the chips with fries for $2 making a nice plate of loaded fries.
And of course, our goal is always to stay around $30 .
We have also tried their Mexican Sandwich and Fried Flour Tacos (Teresa’s favorite) and everything was delicious.
Mr. Miguel’s is open Mon-Tue 2-9, Wed-Thur 12-9, Fri-Sat 12-10 and Sun 12-8. With 4 locations, there has to be one near you . . . so go check them out. The Livonia location, at 39305 Plymouth near Eckles Road right on the Plymouth Township/Livonia border, is in the building that formerly housed Richard’s Family Restaurant.
